Text Josh 24:15
But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD."
(1 Sam 28:7; 1 Ki 18:21; 2 Cor 6:17-18; Jam 1:8.)
As you’re going out today, consider who influences your decision. If anything is going to lead you to sin today please avoid it Mt 5:29. Hence, you’re not in-line with God. And if you’re not with God definitely you’re influence by the Devil. Do not allow what you do today (daily activity) be influence by sinful desire knowing that the wages of sin is death Ro6:23. So that you’ll be able to stand in God’s present has his or her child.
Joshua the son of Nun was addressing the Israelites on their pattern of worship, for they have departed from worshiping the God of their father Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. At this meeting he calls all the people together to warn them about the consequences of not serving the Lord correctly. After reminding them of the great miracles God has done among them through their father Abraham, Isaac and Jacob so that when the consequences of those sins befall them, God will be justified for they’ve refuse to obey God. But Joshua says for him and his house shall serve the Lord by obeying his commandment.
What about you, can you say the same thing? How does someone serve the Lord? Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. NIV
My brothers and sisters in the Lord; if you desire to serve the Lord please dedicate and surrender your life completely to Him. Do not turn to the right or left, fix your eyes on Him so that he can fix you.
But if you think it is difficult to obey his laws and you say with your mouth what you believe (Ro 10:10) and never try to practice righteousness because you believe in lie that the scripture is difficult to obey, then, I will advise you go into the world deeply enough and dine with the Devil so that when you get to Hell you will know why you’re there.
Josh 24:19-20 says "You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins. If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you." NIV.
But believers who knows and believe that with God all things are possible continues to put their faith in God through Christ Jesus to help their weakness, so that, they can obey all his commandments, walk in Holiness and ultimately make it back to their maker.
So, are you ready to serve the Lord with all you Heart?
In Matt 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, "you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." NKJV
Then present yourself as a living sacrifice to Him.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. Rom 12:1-2 NIV
And make every effort to live in peace with all men and be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. Heb 12:14-15 NIV
1 John 3:7-10 says Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
Let us try, to know the mind of GOD on how to live a righteous life, the truth you know and do will set you free, hence, we may be living in ignorance thinking we’re living right and ignorance they say is not an excuse.
Please read the Bible and other bible literature book. Make the Bible your companion, read it because your salvation depends on it.
Let me tell you a secret, you can’t see GOD unless you’re Holy. Read the book of Jn 3:3-6 very well, it is not enough to see the kingdom of God and not to desire to see GOD.
And if you want to rededicate your life because I belief you’re already born again (Christian) spirit filled, then do so, go to God and re-plan your life so that you and your family will serve the living GOD who do not spear his Son but deliver Him up for us all Ro 8:32. But if you’re yet to know GOD through Jesus Christ, read and meditate on
Rom 10:9. That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So that you too can experience the POWER of GOD in your life (it’s an open invitation)
Please don’t join the world, neither serve your money or what money can buy, do not trust in your knowledge or people or economy or government etc but trust in the Lord your God and make your request ONLY through prayer. Do not put any image before you like uncle, brother, mother, father, salary, bank account, business, connection, political position, my Doctor, my Prophets, my Pastor etc any name apart from the name of JESUS.
Read Act 17:23-31. For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.
"Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone — an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."
These other names will fail you but JESUS will never fail. If you’re faced or confronted with any problems in life, please note that every problems can be solved through PRAYER -Mt 7:7 just ask your father for a way out of the problem 1 Cor 10:13 and He will show you. So, please purge yourself from dead works and serve the living GOD.
I prayed that GOD of mercy will grant us grace to live Holy and fulfill God’s plan in our individual lives in Jesus name-Amen.
